having thought of lots of songs, heres my spotify selection
feeling we're lacking a bit of direction, these tracks are ones i very much think would suit our band. I know there are hundreds more, but I've tried to get a feel for the selection, so there is a similar style that can be 'shirleyed'.

if i am way off from what others want to do then we should talk on tues... just thought, by showing my selection this would be show what my head is thinking about the sort of direction i would like us to go. not the most flowing of sentences but you get what i mean???

Re: Slightly Shirley Thinking about the future...
and.....I think we could perhaps do an ABBA number, but not sure which one, there are so many....Money Money, Mama Mia, Dancing Queen, I Have A Dream etc. etc......something from the Mama Mia film as topical at the moment.

Re: Slightly Shirley Thinking about the future...
As a lot of people would recognise Songs of Love from Father Ted, it would be fun to do MY LOVELY HORSE, to the right audience of course!

Re: Slightly Shirley Thinking about the future...
Poss future numbers
livin la vida loca - ricky martin
shine - take that!
All you need is love - Beatles
as we've grown into a def 6 and poss a 7 if violin Paul joins us...we could poss work out a voting system, with a 80/20 split, so that it doesnt just fall on persons head to say they dont like a song...Emmy could hold secret ballots and X marks the spot of dooers and non dooers, am I making any sense?
also heres a list of the songs we have already vetoed.
Reach - S club 7
Mustang Sally
I'm a Believer - The Monkeys
Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep
Moondance
(have I forgotten any)

Slightly Shirley Thinking about the future...
Corinne requested this topic to record any thoughts and ideas about songs we may like to do in the future. It's prob important to emphasise that conversation will take place in 'Band Stuff', but i agree this could be useful for developing ideas for the future or they may just get lost.
Here's my contributions to start with:
Mercy - Duffy
Rescue Me - Aretha Franklin
Also what image are we aiming to have ? (rag tag band of misanthropes, or suited and booted luvvies?) just a thought for the future
